MARGAO: SCC Loutolim edged past Ambelim Sports Club 2-1 to enter the quarterfinals of 7th Martin's cup football tournament, organized by Betalbatim Sports Club, at Panchayat ground, on Monday.
Both teams took time to settle and try to take control over the game but it was Ignitious D'Silva to fin the net first in the 15th minute. Ambelim tried hard but couldn't find the equaliser as Arvind's shot from the 30-yard missed the target by a whisker.
As match entered into the second session, SCC Loutolim scored again to double the lead through Shelford fernandes in the 45th minute while Ambelim pulled one goal back through Arvind Fernandes in the injury time.
Shelford Fernandes of SCC Loutolim was awarded man of the match by Pobre Pereira.
