A moving scooter caught fire near the Mahalakshmi temple at Bandora on Thursday at around 3 pm. According to the sources, the mechanic from Curti took one of the scooters kept in the garage and left for Gawane-Bandora to repair another two-wheeler stuck on the road. But his scooter caught fire on reaching Mahalakshmi temple. The scooter rider and locals tried to douse the fire. But since they could not extinguish the fire, the locals called the fire brigade. But by the time the fire brigade personnel reached the spot the scooter was completely burnt.
