MARGAO: Goemkar Ek Paavl Ekcharachem successfully hosted a state-level inter-school quiz competition titled ‘Valmiki’s Vision: A Journey Through Goa’s Heritage’. This initiative celebrated the legacy of the late Valmiki Faleiro, a respected historian and author known for his extensive writings on Goa’s defences, liberation, and cultural heritage.
The competition received an enthusiastic response, with 120 school teams from across Goa participating, of which 80 advanced to the main event held at the Conference Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The event began with a written test, leading to the selection of the top three winners: Ravindra Kelekar Dyanmandir secured first place, Bhatikar Model High School came second, and St. Brito High School, Mapusa, took third place.
The programme was graced by Vijai Sardesai, President of the Goa Forward Party, as the Chief Guest, and Debby Faleiro, wife of the late Valmiki Faleiro, as the Guest of Honour. The quiz aimed to familiarise students with Valmiki Faleiro’s work and contributions, particularly his writings on Goa’s history, inspiring Goans to cherish their heritage.
