Police Inspector Sunil Gudlar and Hawaldar Hussain, both attached to the Konkan Railway Police Station (PS), have been suspended less than 48 hours after their arrest on bribery charges. The suspension orders were issued by Goa Police on Wednesday.

According to the ACB, the PI and hawaldar had allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh from the trader besides a monthly payment of Rs 25,000, to allow him to continue his business activities in Goa. After their arrest, both Gudlar and Hussain were remanded to police custody for interrogation on Tuesday.
