The Congress has sought a change in the seating arrangements in the Goa legislative assembly citing Sunday night's legislative party meeting which passed a resolution removing Michael Lobo as its leader.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president, Amit Patkar, accompanied by six MLAs, met Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar on Monday morning and made the request.

Deputy CLP Leader Sankalp Amonkar, Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao, Quepem MLA Altone D'Costa, Aldona MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira, Cumbharjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai and St Cruz MLA Rudolf Fernandes were with Patkar when he called on the Speaker to urge him to tweak the seating arrangement.

There was however no change in the arrangements effected by the Speaker on Monday, the first day of the monsoon session.
