In one of the largest seizures of LSD liquid ever recorded in Goa, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) arrested a Kerala native with over 110 grams of high-potency drugs, estimated to be worth Rs 11.07 crore on Monday.

Details shared by Superintendent of Police (ANC) Sunita Sawant reveal that the accused, identified as Mohammad Sameer, aged 29 years, had been residing in Goa for the past five years.

He was allegedly operating a guest house in Baga while allegedly running a parallel drug trade from a rented house in Siolim.

“The LSD liquid recovered is potent enough to produce between 10 to 12 lakh LSD blots... small papers soaked in the drug, which are commonly sold at Rs 3,000 to 5,000 per blot at illegal party circuits,” she said at a press conference on Tuesday in the presence of DySP Nerlon Albuquerque and Police Inspector Sajith Pillai.

The breakthrough came after the ANC received intelligence about a Kerala native dealing in high-micron LSD.

“Using a combination of technical surveillance and ground-level informants, we zeroed in on Sameer. He was arrested during the drug delivery just outside his Siolim residence. He was found in possession of 4.72 grams of LSD liquid,” Sawant added.

A search at his rented house led to the recovery of an additional 106 grams of LSD liquid and 101 grams of ganja.

The SP stated that the accused used to distribute the LSD in liquid drops and also infused it onto blotting paper for sale to customers.

LSD, also known as acid, is one of the most powerful hallucinogenic substances and is widely used in the psytrance party scene.

The ANC said that the seized drug was of exceptionally high potency that amplified the scale of the bust.
