One candidate was elected unopposed while four others withdrew their applications, leaving 12 candidates in the fray to four wards in elections to the five-member Harvalem panchayat which take place on October 20.
Demgo Sukdo Malik, candidate from Ward 1, was elected unopposed.
With the withdrawal of four nominations, the 12 candidates in the fray are Ajay Uttam Malik, Akshata Malik, Raju Malik, Shivram Malik (Ward 2), Mamta Divkar, Priya Harwalkar, Sneha Desai (Ward 3), Gauravi Naik and Sukanya Patil (Ward 4) and Asmita Malik, Rekha Sadekar, Sharmila Malik (Ward 5).
