'Cash for Job' scam: GFP demands SIT probe

THE GOAN NETWORK | NOVEMBER 04, 2024, 03:48 PM IST

Panaji: Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to immediately constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to probe into the ongoing cash-for-job scam.

In a letter to CM, Sardesai has raised concerns over the presence of an organized "Job Mafia" syndicate in the government recruitment systems, compromising fair hiring practices in the state.

"A dedicated Special Investigation Team should be established to investigate the job scam, composed of professionals from outside the state administration to ensure an impartial review," he demanded.

He further demanded that pending the SIT investigation, all ongoing government recruitment should be put on hold.

Referring to cases like that of Pooja Naik, the MLA said that this isn't just an isolated incident; it suggests a well-organized network undermining the integrity of our recruitment processes.

Sardesai alleges involvement of high-ranking officials and politicians in these corrupt activities

The recent death of a key figure linked to the job scam, found under suspicious circumstances, has raised further concerns for Sardesai. "This tragic incident raises alarm bells about potential cover-ups aimed at obscuring the full extent of the corruption," he warned.
