The Colva gram sabha on Sunday resolved to reject the controversial draft Jetty Policy 2022.
At the meeting chaired by sarpanch Suzie Fernandes, members raised objections to the policy demanding its scrapping forthwith.
Members pointed out that the policy is not in the interest of the stakeholders, including the fishermen, but has been brought for the corporates.
The members also demanded to know the status of the gadda operating in the panchayat jurisdiction. The issue came up for discussion at the time of confirmation of the minutes of the meeting.
The sarpanch replied saying the panchayat will inspect before initiating action in the matter.
