PANAJI: In a major oversight by Goa Police, the mass transfer order for 616 police personnel issued on Monday mistakenly included the name of a constable who passed away two years ago.
Police Constable Sarvesh Gawas, who was listed as being posted at Old Goa Police Station, was shown as transferred to SPCR Panaji in the order. However, once the error was flagged, the department issued a revised order excluding his name.
The transfer order, issued by Headquarters Superintendent Nelson Albuquerque on the recommendation of the Police Establishment Board, listed 616 personnel -- 80 Assistant Police Sub-Inspectors, 72 Police Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 8 Lady Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 202 Head Constables, 5 Lady Head Constables, 39 Lady Police Constables and 263 Police Constables among others as transferred.
