PANAJI: The Directorate of Education has directed all government, aided, and unaided schools to promote awareness and understanding of child safety and security through educational videos created by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).

“To enhance the safety and security of children in schools, the Commission has developed a comprehensive Manual on Safety and Security, along with ‘Guidelines on School Safety and Security’ from the Ministry of Education (MoE). These guidelines are designed to establish accountability for the safety of children in all schools, including private institutions,” reads the circular by Director Shailesh Zingde.

It further stated that to raise awareness and understanding of these Guidelines and Manual among key stakeholders — children, parents, and schools — the NCPCR created informative IEC materials, including short films and videos regarding the safety of children in schools. As such, the department has directed all the Heads of government, aided, and unaided primary to higher secondary schools, as well as special schools, to disseminate these videos to promote awareness and understanding of the subject.
