German national found dead in Benaulim guest house

MARGAO

A 68-year-old German national, Goran Ragnar Tranberg, who was staying at a guest house in Benaulim, was declared dead after being found unconscious.

During an enquiry by Colva police, the deceased’s friend, Joachim Burkhard Weber, revealed that Goran was staying alone at the guest house and had been unwell since Saturday.

It was also noted that he had suffered a stroke in the past.

On Sunday morning, Goran messaged his friend on WhatsApp, saying he was not feeling well. Around 8:45 am, when the friend visited the guest house, he found Goran lying unconscious on the bed.

He was immediately taken to District Hospital, Margao, in a 108 ambulance, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The enquiry also revealed that Goran had suffered multiple strokes in recent years. Police suspect no foul play.

The body has been preserved at District Hospital, Margao, for observation and further medico-legal procedures.
