With a focus on encouraging innovations in the fields of security, the Goa Police signed a memorandum of understanding with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) on Thursday to enhance the capabilities of the police force through training, education and research.
According to the press statement issued by the police, Additional Director General of Goa Police, Omvir Singh in virtual mode, signed a MoU in the presence of DIG HQ Ajay Sharma. On behalf of RRU, the MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Bimal N Patel.
“The purpose of this MoU is to synergize the expertise of the Rashtriya Raksha University with the aim to undertake up-skilling and training programs and encouraging innovations in the fields of security in general and research, innovation, incubation, training and online education,” the statement added.
Goa Police has collaborated with RRU to enhance the capabilities of the police force through training, education, and research. The key areas of collaboration include affiliation and certification, academic and research programmes, training support, online and offline activities, and collaborative research.
“This collaboration outlines a comprehensive approach to strengthening the Goa Police force through education, specialized training, and applied research. By combining academic expertise with practical policing needs, this partnership will enhance the capabilities of the Goa Police, ensuring that they remain at the forefront of effective and modern law enforcement strategies,” the police said.
