LagiKon App, hyper-local business Directory was launched on Monday by Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Damodar Shirodkar in the presence of MMC councillors on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day. The Lagikon App and website aims at enlisting each and every business activity in the State with special emphasis on small-time businesses in the rural areas.
Hundreds of shops selling diverse products and services in Margao New Municipal Market are available on Lagikon App and website making it Goa’s first digital market space. Speaking to media after the launch, Margao Chairperson Damodar Shirodkar commended the promoters of Lagikon App for launching this unique initiative from Goa’s commercial capital - Margao. “The Lagikon App and website will immensely help the small businesses to improve their customer base and at the same time benefit the customers to find the nearest shops,” he said. Margao New Market Traders Association President Vinod Shirodkar said that Margao market is one of the oldest Markets and complete digitisation of this market will help attract new customers to this market. This compact market sells a wide range of products, especially some exclusive and typical Goan products. This App will help people across Goa and also tourists visiting the state to know about the unique products available here, he added.
