MARGAO: Upon a complaint lodged by Arthur D’Silva, the Margao police have arrested a native of Hubballi, Karnataka, in connection with a theft complaint.
In his complaint, Arthur alleged that the accused, Devidas Gosavi, residing near Old Station Road, Margao, but a native of Hubli, Karnataka, trespassed into the building where the complainant’s daughter resides and stole items such as a vacuum cleaner, drilling machine, shoes, and other items, all worth Rs 2,50,000, which were kept outside their main door near the lift.
After committing the theft, the accused is reported to have gone to a scrapyard near Old Station Road and sold the stolen items to an unknown person sitting at the counter.
The unknown person received the items even though they were aware that they were stolen, thereby committing a crime under Section 317(2) of BNS 2023.
