PONDA: A motorcycle rider had a lucky escape when a tree fell on his bike at Shigao-Collem on Monday morning.
The rider was travelling from Collem to Sanvordem when a large tree by the roadside uprooted and fell onto the road as he reached Shigao.
Although the rider narrowly escaped injury, traffic on the Sanvordem-Shigao road was blocked for a while because of the fallen tree.
A fire brigade from Curchorem quickly arrived at the scene and cleared the tree from the road.
