PANAJI
Disruptions in water supply caused by damage to pipelines connecting the main PWD supply lines to sumps of multiple high-rise residential buildings in the Panaji market areas caused by bulldozers working on the smart city projects there last week continue to haunt residents.
Residents living in apartment flats and businesses operating from ground floor shops in at least five buildings are affected -- Marchon building, Live-in Apartments, Seagull building, Citadel building and the Trionora Apartments.
Last weekend, PWD officials and workers of the smart city contractors had fixed some of the damaged pipelines but residents of some of these buildings said, problems in supply have resurfaced.
PWD officials were back at work to repair the damaged pipelines on Friday as well and managed to rectify the problems by late evening.
Residents reported that they have started getting the supply but told 'The Goan' that the PWD officials have conveyed to them that the problem has not been fully resolved in the area.
"They have told us to observe the supply for the next few days are report anomalies. They said they would come back and do what it takes to resolve the problem permanently," one resident said.
