Around 17,718 Class XII students are set to answer the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examination set to commence from February 10 for general stream and for vocational from February 11.
Apart from 17,718 regular students, there are 864 regular repeater candidates while eight are isolated candidates and another 16 candidates are those who seek improvement in the marksheet and 49 are answering for part improvement.
Last year, 17,511 students appeared under the regular category.
The Board has announced that the HSSC examinations will be held in offline mode, across 20 centres.
As per the time table for HSSC, the examination will commence with English paper from February 10, while economics is scheduled on February 12, banking on February 13, Marathi on February 14 and Hindi on February 15.
While Sociology is scheduled on February 17, Physics, Accountancy and history is scheduled on February 18, Chemistry and Business Studies on February 21 Psychology on February 22, Mathematics on February 24, Konkani on February 25, Biology on February 27 and Geography on February 28.
For the vocation stream, the examination will commence from February 11 with an English Communication skill paper.
