Dhavrukh NGO took a significant stride towards water conservation on Sunday with their "BhuJalSanvardhan" Catch the Rain event held at Junaswada, Mandrem in Goa.

The event, graced by approximately 50 enthusiastic volunteers, aimed to raise awareness about rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharging, crucial for sustainable water management in the region.

Led by the President of Dhavrukh, Rudresh Uttam Mhamal, the NGO has emerged as a catalyst for change in Goa's water conservation efforts. Their initiative has gained momentum, drawing attention to the pressing need for water conservation amid growing environmental concerns.

The highlight of the event was the creation of 195 contour trenches, symbolizing the 195 countries of the world, emphasizing the global necessity and local importance of water conservation. These trenches serve as practical demonstrations of rainwater harvesting techniques, showcasing their effectiveness in replenishing groundwater levels.

Speaking at the event, Mhamal emphasized, "Our collective responsibility towards water conservation cannot be overstated. Dhavrukh's efforts are a humble beginning towards a sustainable water future for Goa. We invite everyone to join us in this crucial endeavour."

Dhavrukh NGO's journey began with successful groundwater recharging units installed across 8 talukas of Goa and Oras village in Maharashtra. Their efforts have inspired local communities to embrace water conservation practices, marking a paradigm shift towards environmental stewardship.

As Goa grapples with water scarcity challenges exacerbated by climate change, initiatives like the Catch the Rain event underscore the proactive role NGOs like Dhavrukh can play in fostering community-driven solutions. The event not only educated participants but also galvanized support for wider adoption of rainwater harvesting techniques.

Moving forward, Dhavrukh plans to expand its outreach, collaborating with communities and stakeholders to scale up water conservation efforts across the region. Their advocacy is a testament to the power of grassroots initiatives in addressing critical environmental issues.

Dhavrukh NGO's "BhuJalSanvardhan" Catch the Rain event stands as a beacon of hope and action in Goa's journey towards sustainable water management. With continued momentum and collective effort, the vision of a water-secure future for all remains within reach.
