Techie's viral post about lower rent, peaceful living, and friendly locals debunks recent negative perceptions of State

Just a few months ago, social media was agog with users pummelling Goa as a tourist destination, highlighting all that's 'wrong' here and making claims that tourists were en-mass ditching the State for other destinations.
Now, a tech-nomadic move here by an engineer from land-locked Noida who says he's "happy" has gone viral. It paints a rosy picture of the State and the story has been picked up for their web editions by every top national media group -- the Hindustan Times, The Hindu, The Indian Express and several more.
The engineer who goes by the name 'Raj' said in his social media post that he moved to Goa just two weeks ago and is "happy" (with a 45K saving on renting an apartment, who wouldn't?).
According to Raj's post, he ditched his Noida apartment to move to Goa and pays just Rs 19,000 for a beach village 2BHK apartment in South Goa which has a view of a palm-fringed road and a serene, green environment.
“Update: moved to Goa. 19k/month rent is so worth it,” Raj's post read, pinned to another one a year earlier where he sarcastically said he was paying Rs 64K per month for working from the Noida apartment with a "dreamy view". His Noida apartment overlooked another high-rise building.
The 45K he saves in the monthly rent difference between Noida and Goa is not the only reason for the 'feel-good' sentiment about Goa associated with Raj's post. Raj says in the comment section of his post that although he moved just two weeks ago to Goa, his experience has been good and also responded in the negative to a follower's query if he has faced any "hostility from locals".
Even Wi-Fi is "decent" he said, adding he has had no issues with the power supply as the landlord has an inverter for the apartment.
