3 women scrap collectors arrested for theft in Moira

Panaji: Alert residents help Mapusa police to arrest three women from Karnataka, who were found allegedly stealing valuables worth lakhs of rupees from two houses in Moira.


 The women, identified as Saroja Pawar, Subhava Lamani, and Renuka Chikre, reportedly took valuables including tablets, a camera, and gold items worth over Rs 2 Lakhs.


Local residents in Moira caught the women in the act and quickly alerted the police, who arrived on the scene and took the suspects into custody. 


The women are originally from Gadag, Karnataka, and had been living in the nearby areas of Guirim and Tivim. They were working as scrap collectors in the region.


Mapusa police are investigating the case to know whether this is a part of organized crime
