There was a good response for the vaccination drive conducted by Pilerne-Marra Panchayat in association with Candolim Health Centre for persons above 45 years of age.
State BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, health office of Candolim Primary Health Centre Dr Roshan Nazareth and ZP member Repesh Naik were present at the occasion.
While speaking to The Goan, panch Arun Govekar stated that a total of 347 took the benefit of the vaccination drive.
The drive started at 9.30 am and concluded at 5 pm.
"The fact that a large number of residents visited the panchayat to get vaccinated indicates that the people are really scared about Covid and hence there was a need of such vaccination drive at the panchayat level too. The state government should allow the panchayat to conduct such drives in future too said, Govekar.
Sarpanch Sandeep Bandodkar, Panch members Karan Govekar, Santosh Bandodkar, Sonal Malvankar, Roshni Rane, Branda Vaz put in efforts to make the vaccination drive successful.
