A 57-year-old woman from Savoi-Verem collapsed and died during a fugdi contest in the hall of the Saibaba temple in Borim on Saturday.
According to the police, a fugdi competition was organised for women of Ponda taluka on the occasion of Birsa Munda Jayanti.
As the contest was in progress, Gokul Khedekar collapsed on the floor and was rushed to the Sub-District Hospital at Ponda, where she was declared dead on arrival.
A post-mortem later revealed that she had died of a heart attack. Ponda police conducted a panchanama of the incident.
