Aam Aadmi Party Curtorim candidate Domnic Gaonkar slammed three-time Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco on Monday for quitting the TMC, accusing him of hopping between parties for his advantage, stated AAP in a press release.
Gaonkar said, "Lourenco should stop fooling the people of Curtorim. He recently hinted to rejoin the Congress camp, which is also an outside party. Lourenco has been hopping from party to party to satisfy his selfish interests".
"Lourenco, who earlier left Congress and joined another party, said he did it for the sake of development. Lourenco has been a legislator for 15 years, what kind of development has he brought about in his constituency? If the BJP-led government prevented him from developing his constituency, why did he never oppose it in the assembly?", questioned Gaonkar.
"The largest village Panchayat in Curtorim constituency, Raia, lacks a primary health care centre. Even though there is a 70 per cent subsidy available to farmers to buy harvesting machines, farmers can't get them. Unemployment is also a major concern, but former Curtorim MLA never attempted to solve it", he added.
He further said, "Michael Lobo, who also recently switched from BJP to Congress after his wife was refused a Siolim ticket by BJP, has asked Lourenco to rejoin Congress. Having been trying to get Lourenco to join his camp for two years, Lobo has once again come to Lourenco. Curtorim residents should not fall for Lobo's ploy and give AAP a chance to bring positive change in the constituency".
