The Aam Aadmi Party, which is in full swing to contest this year’s polls, on Tuesday announced its seventh list of three candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in the State, stated a press release.
Delhi MLA and Aam Aadmi Party Goa desk in-charge Atishi tweeted, “Happy to announce the seventh list of candidates for Goa Assembly elections 2022. Goa is going to vote for change on February 14".
The three candidates announced by the party are Mormugao - Parshuram Sonurlekar, Saligao - Mario Cordeiro and Aldona - Mahesh Satelkar.
In the run-up to the elections, the AAP has announced all its candidates and has also named a noted lawyer-turned-politician Amit Palyekar as its chief ministerial candidate. Currently, AAP has been receiving tremendous support from the Goans, the release adds.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party Goa convenor Rahul Mhambre, Prashant Naik and Nonu Naik on Tuesday filed their nominations for the assembly elections from Mapusa, Cuncolim and Priol, respectively.
Mhambre claimed Mapusa and Mhapsekars yearning for a change from the corruption and misgovernance that has engulfed the constituency. He said, "While the city and its residents have gone from a bad to a worse state with no amenities, only the councillors have prospered these years".
"Several Mapusa youths and women joined the AAP after being inspired by the party's youth- and women-focused policies. Delhi has been completely transformed by the AAP in six years. If AAP wins power in the state, we will fulfil all our promises", he added.
He said, "In the past few years, the AAP has been the only party to address the concerns of the common individual. While others are rushing to switch parties".
Cuncolim candidate expressed that this time AAP will win the seat. He said, "Cuncolim has seen and elected both the BJP and Congress but still there is no development. We don’t have a primary health centre in Chandor and Guirdolim. Cuncolim is an urban place but the government is trying to bring healthcare under Balli primary health centre. If AAP comes to power, I will set up a 50-bedded urban health centre".
AAP Priol candidate Nonu Naik said, "There are a lot of issues faced by the people of Priol constituency. Priol constituency has not experienced political or social change and the present and the former MLA never worked on this. Both the MLAs are engaged to instigate quarrels among the people. I am confident that this time AAP will win the election".
