In a tragic incident, a two-year-old girl tragically lost her life at a petrol pump in Vasco on Wednesday.
The mishap occurred when Kalilulla Khan, a tourist from Tamil Nadu, accidentally lost balance while refuelling a rented bike, leading to the fatal accident.
According to sources at the Vasco police station, the family had rented a bike at the airport upon arriving in Goa for a holiday.
While refuelling at the petrol pump, the father reportedly failed to deploy the bike’s stand, causing him to lose balance.
The bike, along with the father and mother, toppled onto the young child, Afiya Khan.
Afiya sustained severe injuries, and despite being rushed to the Sub-District Hospital in Chicalim, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The Vasco police have registered a case of unnatural death and have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident.
