Training of all Agniveers, who were selected by various Army recruitment offices and Regimented centres across the country, has commenced in right earnest at all the designated centres of the Indian Army, including 3 Miltitary Training Regiment (3MTR), Margao from January 1, 

2023.

The first batch of AGNIVEERS for the Corps of Signals had reported at the 3MTR on December 24, 2022 for the pre-training formalities.

The Agniveers were then made to undergo the process of documentation, medical examination, military kit issue, orientation and familiarization sessions to prepare them for military 

training.

Approximately, 2,800 of them who have been allotted Corps of Signals are slated to be trained here in the next four months.

The AGNIPATH scheme as a tour of duty style scheme for recruitment of youths in the Indian armed forces was unveiled on June 14, 2022. The Agniveers were selected by various ARMY Recruitment Offices (AROS) and Regimental centres spread across the length and breadth of the country.

The Agniveer training has been specially tailored to ensure early availability of trained soldiers to the field formations. They would be going through Basic Military Training (BMT) and Advance Military Training (AMT) as part of their curriculum. The Agniveer training schedule starts early in the day with physical training, Drill and weapons Training, followed by academic and military subject classes.

Night training is also a part of the training programme. The trainees get adequate opportunity to play games to develop the highly sought team and fighting spirit so very typical to soldiers across the world.
