CANACONA
Keeping the Christmas spirit alive, parishioners of Agonda participated in door-to-door carol singing and a live crib over the weekend.
Children and adults alike, dressed in red, white, and green attire, moved in groups singing Christmas carols, entering homes to pray and share a message of joy and happiness while also distributing sweets to the residents.
Agonda Parish is divided into 10 Somudais (Small Christian Communities). Some of the larger Somudai groups formed two or three smaller groups and visited various homes in the area from 4 pm until about 11 pm on Friday.
On Saturday, the Agonda Parish Youth surprised everyone by moving with a live crib, spreading a message of love and compassion, and addressing societal issues through a skit and Christmas carols.
The Agonda Parish Youth were led by Assistant to the Parish Priest, Fr Baltazar Fernandes, and assisted by Br Sangam, who actively participated in the skit and carol singing.
The live crib was appreciated by many as the youth moved from Somudai to Somudai, covering all 10 Somudais of Agonda.
