Concerns over poor school infrastructure have surfaced once again, with BJP legislator from Saligao, Kedar Naik, highlighting the precarious state of the government primary school in Saligao.
Naik emphasized the urgent need for government intervention to ensure the safety of students and staff.
During the Zero Hour in the legislative assembly, Naik pointed out the imminent danger posed by the deteriorating school building, especially with the ongoing monsoon season.
“In the current monsoon season, there is an imminent risk that the structure may collapse due to heavy rainfall, posing a serious threat to the lives of students and teaching staff of the school,” Naik stated.
The MLA expressed the anxiety of parents who are worried about the safety of their children.
The school, which currently accommodates 73 students, has one block housing the anganwadi and pre-primary sections, while the other block is dedicated to primary classes from I to IV.
“The government should give attention to this situation and ensure the safety of students and also the teaching faculties of the said school,” Naik urged.
Despite his passionate plea, no immediate assurance was made by the government.
