Margao MLA and former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Monday said that Bhimrao Ambedkar is not just a leader of any caste or group, but is a great leader of the entire country.
Speaking at the Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations held at the BJP South Goa District Office on Monday, Kamat said that Ambedkar should be an inspiration for the younger generation to scale great heights. “Ambedkar’s Jayanti is being organised by many people, with some even organising rallies with DJ music. One should know that Ambedkar is one of the tallest leaders of India and should be an inspiration not just for the community, but for all Indians, irrespective of caste and creed,” he said.
Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gesture of paying respect to Ambedkar in Parliament, Kamat said the Prime Minister puts into practice what he preaches, unlike others who only carry a copy of the Constitution in their pockets.
Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuemkar, Commissioner of NRI Affairs Narendra Sawaikar, along with other BJP leaders, paid rich tributes to the Father of the Indian Constitution.
