PANAJI: Amid ongoing Smart City works, the government is set to roll out a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure smooth movement during Goa’s annual Carnival.
The Carnival parade will follow the same route as last year, with MG Road expected to be completed by February 26.
GTDC MD Kuldeep Arolkar confirmed that the plan aims to prevent congestion and will be announced soon.
Security measures have also been put in place, with Goa Police, emergency services, and other personnel deployed at all parade locations to manage crowds and ensure public safety. “We request all visitors to follow safety guidelines and cooperate with authorities,” Arolkar said.
The festivities will take place in Panaji on March 1, Margao on March 2, Vasco on March 3, and Mapusa and Morjim on March 4. However, the Porvorim Carnival Committee has decided not to hold celebrations this year due to ongoing flyover construction in the area.
The official Carnival song has been launched, and King Momo will lead the celebrations, calling on Goans to stay united in love and peace and to keep the spirit of Goa alive. "To all Goans be it Hindus, Muslims, and Christians always stay united in love and peace. Understand each other and keep the spirit of Goa alive,” he said
