Anjuna police book 1 for violating noise pollution norms

Amid allegations of inaction against illegal late-night parties, the Anjuna police booked Sylroy Maskell of restaurant Thalassa by Cliff for allegedly playing loud music beyond the permissible time limit on Independence Day night.

Details shared by the police on Friday state the police registered an offense under Section 5 of the Noise Pollution Regulation and Control Rules 2000 and Section 15 of the Environment Protection Act 1986 against Sylroy Maskell for playing loud amplified music beyond the permissible time at his restaurant Thalassa by Cliff, located at Ozrant, Vagator.

“It caused noise pollution in the locality...During the investigation, Pioneer DJ mixer with a display board and Speaker of make Dynatech were also seized,” the police said.
