Stating that historical dramas (nataks) are needed to understand history, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude said artistes are the backbone of society.
“An artiste is not made overnight but becomes one with a lot of sacrifices, determination and efforts,” said Gaude.
The minister was speaking at the inaugural function of the three-day historical Natya Mahotsav Annual Shigmostav celebrations of Shri Laximinarayan Devalaya, Poinguinim organised by Govardhan Trust, Poinguinim in association with the Arts and Culture Department.
Drama artistes Shrikant Komarpant, Ramkrishna Naik and Devendra Poinguinkar were felicitated on the occasion.
