Ashirwad Kala Kendr, Ajgaon has extended its full support and co-operation to Global Konknni Forum in its mission of overall development of Konkani in Roman script, and especially in its fight against injustice caused to Konkani in Roman Script in the Goa’s controversial Official Language Act.
As part of its awareness programme as well as to strengthen Global Konknni Forum had a meeting with Ashirwad Kala Kendr, Ajgaon at Shiroda, Vengurla taluka of Sindhudurg District.
Global Konknni Forum’s Secretary Jose Salvador Fernandes explained the aims and objectives of the Forum, primarily focusing on the injustice done to Konkani in Roman script in the Official Language Act. He went on to add that Global Konknni Forum is in the process of building its worldwide network of Konkani in Roman script to fulfil the aims of the Forum, especially to get its right in the Official Language Act.
The Founder President of Ashirwad Kala Kendra, Ajgaon, Edwin D’Souza stated that there are lot of youth in Ajgaon, who are enthusiastic about Konkani and its culture, and added that Ashirwad Kala Kendra is organising Konkani programmes of its own to nurture the Konkani talent prevailing amongst the youth. On behalf of Ashirwad Kala Kendra, Edwin D’Souza promised full co-operation to Global Konknni Forum in its future endeavours.
