Lays foundation stone for `2 cr ZAO building in Valpoi

Emphasising the importance of a modern system in the agricultural sector, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has said better options should be made available to attract youth to agriculture, which would bring about a radical change.
He was speaking at the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the Zonal Agriculture Office building at Valpoi.
Rane recalled that when he was the agriculture minister, he had made various modern implements available in the State at a cost of Rs 2 crore and various subsidies were provided to farmers.
“This gave a good boost to agriculture in Sattari Taluka. New farmers were created and youth entered the farming business,” said Rane.
He advised the agriculture officials to have relevant data after surveying the lands of each farmer, to ascertain what would be the best produce for farmers on their land.

Poriem MLA Deviya Rane said efforts had been made for many years to get a good building for Valpoi Zonal Agriculture Office.
“With the support of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik, this project will finally be completed at a cost of Rs 1.99 crore. Farmers of Sattari taluka will be connected with modern knowledge and technology, while guidance will be given to farmers in Sattari,” she said.
Honda ZP member Sagun Wadkar expressed hope that farmers would benefit once the new ZAO building is completed.
