MARGAO
The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) took action against fast food stalls at the old bus stand in Margao on Wednesday evening.
Days after warning stall owners to maintain hygiene or face penalties, FDA officials fined those failing to meet hygiene standards. Around 10 stalls were fined Rs 2,000 each, while two others were charged Rs 1,000.
Officials have warned traders to improve cleanliness or face stricter action.
This is one of the first instances in recent times where the FDA has taken such action against food stalls at the old bus stand.
