An awareness meet on mega projects was conducted at the St Michael Church in Orlim.
The programme began with prayer, introduction, couple of songs on Laudato Si (based on the encyclical by Pope Francis) and Noman Noman Tuka Goa by the upcoming artistes from Orlim.
Goecho Ekvott and its members were among the speakers at the awareness meet.
Capt Viriato Fernandes provided details on all mega projects, including the double tracking and coal transportation, and its impact for Goa.
Chicalim Parish Priest Fr Bolmax Pereira spoke of the ecological impact on Madei issues, while Orlim Parish Priest Fr Raju Godinho spoke on the psychological impact on human beings and also on the Laudato Si (encyclical letter by Pope). Other speakers at the awareness meeting included Creson Antao, Olencio Simoes and Royla Fernandes.
