Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik on Wednesday said the Ayurvedic OPD is expected to start in 8-10 months in Phase-I of the ongoing construction of All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy at Dhargal-Pernem.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the ‘Tika Utsav’ for onsite workers of the AYUSH hospital under construction at Dhargal.
Emphasising the importance of Covid vaccination, Naik thanked the Directorate of Health Services for providing onsite vaccination to the workers.
“The Ayurvedic OPD will commence in 8-10 months in the Phase-I of the project,” said Naik.
The institute is the extension of All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi. The 250-bedded hospital will also cater to 500 students every year offering undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees.
The Ayurveda department has a 100-bed facility and Naturopathy has 150-bed capacity. A Yoga department will have facilities of a diabetic clinic, cardiac care unit including yoga therapy room for 30 patients.
The institute includes a Medical College with hostel facilities for Ayurveda, Naturopathy and Yoga. The institute will also boost health tourism, said Shripad Naik.
