The Bank of India organised a pre-independence ‘Partition Horrors Remembers Day’ at Star House, Patto–Panaji on Wednesday.
Zonal Manager Vivek Dadheech welcomed veteran freedom fighter Rohidas Dessai (Daad), President, Goa Daman & Diu Freedom Fighters Association, who was the Chief Guest.
Also present on the occasion was Juino De Souza ex-State Information Commissioner, Goa and other staff members.
Dadheech said the National Memorial Day observed throughout India on August 14, to commemorate the sufferings of people during the 1947 partition of India which serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless people who envisioned free and a prosperous nation.
