Issues like the growing parking problem in the city due to an increasing number of visitors from neighbouring Goa, confusion in issuing completion certificates, and the rising water crisis were the main topics discussed at the Meet the Press programme held in Belagavi on Saturday.

Newly elected Mayor Mangesh Pawar, Deputy Mayor Vani Joshi and Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil were felicitated by the Belagavi Print Media Association.

Responding to a question about the shrinking parking space in the city, MLA Abhay Patil said that work on a multi-level parking facility at Ramdev Galli will begin soon.

Mayor Pawar and Deputy Mayor Joshi said they will focus on the development of all city wards under the guidance of MLA Patil. “We are working towards the overall development of the city. Support from the media is important to share our efforts with the public. Let’s all come together to take the city forward,” said Deputy Mayor Joshi.

Also present at the event were Vilas Joshi, President of the Belagavi Print Media Association; Deputy Director of Information and Publicity Gurunath Kadabur; senior journalists Naushad Bijapur, Raju Gavali, Ravi Uppar, Shrishail Mathad, Mallikarjun Mugli and others.
