With anti-social activity going on unabated at the Benaulim public parking lot, residents have demanded action to put a stop to illegal activities, including public drinking and drug peddling.
In a memorandum submitted to the South Goa Superintendent of Police, Tikam Singh, Warren Alemao pointed out how the Benaulim public parking lot has turned into a hotspot for illegal activities every night. “Drunken miscreants, drug peddlers are found at the lot. Lawlessness prevails at the place,” Warren stated in his memorandum.
He said the absence of police endangers locals and tourists, adding that no action has been taken despite repeated complaints.
Saying the people of Benaulim constituency demand safety and security, Warren said he has made a fervent plea to the district police chief for immediate patrolling and strict enforcement.
