MAPUSA:
A man identified as Abhishek Ranjan Singh, a native of Bihar, has been arrested by Calangute Police on charges of raping a woman in the staff room of a hotel in Calangute.
The victim, a 23-year-old woman from Manipur, reported to the police that Singh forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with her without her consent. The incident took place in a hotel staff room where both the accused and the victim were employed.
Following the complaint, the police swiftly registered a case against Singh under Section 64 of the BNS. The accused was subsequently arrested and is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
The case has drawn attention to the safety and security of employees working in the hospitality sector, with local authorities emphasising their commitment to a thorough investigation and justice for the victim.
