The BJP’s win at all three ZP seats in Sattari should have been the highlight in the taluka, but it was the dismal performance of the Congress and its huge losses in all three ZP seats that became the talking point.
HONDA ZP: BJP candidate Sagun Wadkar defeated independent candidate Ganpat Gaonkar by 2,784 votes to win the Honda ZP constituency.
Wadkar (BJP) polled 5,359, while Gaonkar got 2,575 votes, followed by Congress candidate Ramesh Gawade (1,187), independent candidate, Gurudas Gaonkar (749) and AAP candidate Pundalik Gawade (312). As many as 376 votes were rejected.
KERI ZP: BJP candidate, Devyani Gawas, ensured yet another comprehensive victory for the party by securing 6,802 votes, defeating Parineeta Ranjit Rane of the Congress, who polled 2,766 votes to win the Keri ZP constituency. Election officials rejected 651 votes.
NAGARGAO ZP: The BJP completed its emphatic victory in Sattari when Rajeshri Kale won the Nagargao ZP constituency by securing 6652 votes, defeating Usha Mest of Congress who polled 3,090 votes. The rejected votes were 617.
