Chief Minister Pramod Sawant once again proved his supremacy in all five wards of Harvalem Panchayat area, after BJP-backed candidates won elections in all four wards which took place on Sunday.

While a BJP-backed candidate, Demgo Sukdo Malik, was already elected unopposed from Ward 1, the other candidates who won elections in other wards were Ajay Malik (Ward 2), Mamta Divkar (Ward 3), Gauravi Naik (Ward 4), and Asmita Malik (Ward 5).

The counting of votes to the four wards was completed at the Mamlatdar’s office on Monday.

Electoral Officer Praveen Gawas and Deputy Electoral Officer Dattatray Parab declared the results and later handed over the certificates to the winning candidates.

Jubilant party workers congratulated the winning candidates with garlands and later took part in a procession to celebrate the victory.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and his wife, Sulakshana Sawant, went to greet the winning candidates and appealed to everyone to cooperate in the development of the panchayat.

“The BJP is committed to development and the panchayat members should work to ensure that schemes reach all houses, thereby contributing to the development process,” said Sawant.

Acknowledging that their victory had been achieved with the support of the chief minister and the BJP, the winning candidates assured to work together for the welfare of the village.
