At a time when rising Covid cases have cast gloom in Pernem taluka, there was some cheer after Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar was seen in her home town of Pernem.
According to sources, Pednekar visited her hometown and visited the family deities, Shri Ravalnath, Shri Bhagwati and Goddess Mauli.
Sources said Pednekar visits her home town every year during Dussehra, but decided to visit Pernem earlier this year as she would be busy with film shoots.
She's the paternal niece of Mohan Pednekar from Mhauswaddo-Pernem and resides with her family in Mumbai.
After debuting with 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha', she has starred in films like ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’, ‘Bala’ and 'Pati, Patni Aur Woh’.
He role as an overweight bride in ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ had earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Prior to acting, Pednekar had worked as an assistant casting director at Yash Raj Films for six years.
Bhumi Pednekar has her ancestral house near Ravalnath temple, where her uncle Mohan Pednekar and his family presently reside.
