MARGAO
The Margao municipality came under the scanner of the citizens on Sunday after garbage was found burning at Colmorod ward, while the carcass of cattle lay unattended throughout Sunday morning and afternoon.
A resident of Colmorod Gary Azavedo pointed out that while the MMC has not been prompt in clearning a dark spot opposite the Manohar Parrikar indoor stadium at Navelim, he slammed the authorities for the waste burning at the dark spot later around noon.
“The Margao municipality has failed to address the issue of the dark spot right opposite the Manohar Parrikar indoor stadium at Colmorod-Navelim. Further aggravating the situation was that the waste was set afire instead of the municipal vehicles lifting it,” he said.
Gary informed that he has brought the matter to the notice of the Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and Margao Municipal Chairperson Damu Shirodkar for action.
He further pointed out that the carcass of a dog has been lying just outside the Margao railway station.
Meanwhile, the carcass of cattle was lying along the road at the entrance of the city at Sirvodem metres before the Margao fly over around noon.
