The collision between a bus, truck, and car at Barkate-Mollem on Sunday night claimed a second life when the bus driver from Ramnagar-Bangalore died from his injuries on Monday. The bus was travelling from Panaji to Karnataka when the accident occurred.
Following the collision, the truck driver, Faiza from Karnataka, was killed on the spot, while a young woman, Anjali Bhanushali from Bangalore, was seriously injured. The seven people in the car escaped unharmed.
Collem police have registered a case against the bus driver, Bhima Naik, for reckless and negligent driving. On Sunday night, Naik lost control of the bus, which then collided with an oncoming truck, killing the truck driver instantly.
The driver, who was trapped inside the bus, was rescued by the Ponda fire brigade. Another passenger in the bus was seriously injured and was taken to Goa Medical College hospital in Bambolim for treatment.
