Calls to keep environment in good state for posterity

Justice Mahesh Sonak of the Bombay High Court launched a cycle rally on World Environment day on Sunday with a message to the people that it is the duty of the citizens to keep the earth and environment in a good state for posterity.

“We should remember that this earth is not something which we have inherited from our ancestors or forefathers. This is something which we have borrowed from our children. It is our duty to keep it in a good state for our children," Justice Sonak said while addressing the participants after flagging off the cycle rally of ProPedalerz at the South Goa district and sessions court complex in the presence Judges on Sunday morning.

In a lighter vein, Justice Sonak remarked “Unfortunately, in the courts, we are used to dealing with different kinds of peddlers. I am extremely happy to welcome the Pro Pedalerz”,

Meanwhile, Verna Industries Association supported by Xaxti Riders, had an innovative Environment & Biodiversity awareness creation drive through a cycle ride.

Around 300-plus cyclists were flagged off by Goa State Biodiversity Board, Member Secretary Dr Pradip Sarmokadam at 6.30 am from Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.

Cyclists rode to Colva, along the coastal road to Queeny Nagar and Adage Automation Pvt Ltd at Verna Industrial Estate for breakfast and biodiversity function.

Chief Guest, South Goa Collector Jyoti Kumari IAS also cycled to the venue.
