The vendors selling candles, flowers and wax figurines as also the beggars were not to be seen at Old Goa due to a ban by authorities.
Usually, these vendors were seen around the parking lots trying to woo the devotees and pilgrims to purchase flowers, candles and wax figurines.
But, this year, on account of the ban none of them were found openly doing business with only a few of them selling such items clandestinely.
With flowers and candles banned, the Cross outside the Basilica was devoid of such items.
Also, the beggars who usually made the footpaths leading towards the Basilica as their base were also missing as they too were not allowed to operate.
