St Thomas High School at Cansaulim, which was established by Fr Roberto Barretto in 1962, celebrated 60 years of its service to the local community on Friday.
Chief Guest at a function to mark the event was Fr Lucio Dias, himself an alumni, who praised the school management past and present for imbibing the true values of humanity to the youth who went on to become doctors, engineers, architects, entrepreneurs, priests, etc.
Ex-managers Fr Sertorio Rodrigues, Fr Jean da Cruz Fernandes and current Manager Fr Ave Maria Afonso and headmistress Aurora D’Souza spoke about their association with the school.
Special invitees, Orville Dourado Rodrigues, himself an ex-student, and Congress leader Olencio Simoes, also spoke about the school, which has launched many youth to become resourceful members of our society.
Teachers past and present and non-teaching staff were felicitated by Fr Lucio Dias, Fr Jean da Cruz Fernandes and Aurora D’Souza.
